Amber Hawk Swanson, whose marriage to her Real Doll and art videos of her reenacting movie rape scenes with it became a Web phenomenon after the Reader profiled her in August, is now a host on Vocalo, Chicago Public Radio's this-is-definitely-not-public-radio radio station. She details the marriage in a multi-part audio series on their site.

This was the most stupid story I have ever heard of... why did this idiot have a doll created in her likeness?? And why is she re-enacting rape scenes with herself as the victim?? This story is more about VANITY than anything else, what a waste of film, bandwidth and most importantly... TIME. I am still wondering what the hell this world is coming to... making a life size silicon doll of yourself, then marrying it and then creating/re-enacting rape scenes??? This girl needs psychiatric help more than anything, giving her any attention/airtime is sad and pathetic... I might as well take a shit in a bowl and see if the MCA or the "School" will feature my art which I call "BULLSHIT"... so gay, oh wait I guess that was the point of the story??? Confused and Disgusted....

Thanks for the freedom of speech... needing to vent.

Marriage and gender inequality seem to be really just the beginning of the(her) exploration. Oftentimes, women that are victims of incest at the hands of their mother have extreme issues or difficulties viewing and perceiving their body as their own. As well, some women have grown to actively participate in an incestual relationship with their mother. Hence, it could be somewhat therapeutic to participate in a mock relationship with oneself given such circumstances. To be sure, making an item of "Art" toward such a subject is most therapeutic, because it can be described as a revelation to so many people that have no idea that such occurences are frequent in our society and others. I could be wrong, but, I doubt it.
