This week in the
New York Times, Dave Kehr reviews Franz Osten's 1929 Indian silent feature
A Throw of Dice, which was recently released on DVD by
Kino International. Two weeks from tonight, Chicagoans will have a chance to see the film on the big screen with live musical accompaniment as part of the
Grant Park Music Festival. Stephen Hussey will conduct the Grant Park Orchestra, and
Nitin Sawhney, who wrote the score for the DVD release, will guest on keyboards.
