Local Mexican-American trio Allá plays a free show tonight at the Empty Bottle and will likely perform material from its promising debut album, Es Tiempo, to be released June 10 on Crammed Discs. After a two-week hiatus, the Empty Bottle's free Monday series resumes with a promising evening of music featuring some of Chicago's busiest mainstays. Playing second is the Molten Truth Trio, an all-star ensemble comprised of guitarist Jeff Parker (of Tortoise, Exploding Star Orchestra, Isotope 217, etc), Aleks Tomaszewska (who puts the Aleks in Aleks & the Drummer), and Steve Krakow (Plastic Crimewave mastermind and Secret History of Chicago Music scribe). Little Howlin' Wolf opens at 9 PM.
