Learn to knit, purl, and design your own projects at Friday afternoon knitting classes at the Lincolnwood Library (4000 W. Pratt). Classes run from 3:30 to 5 PM all year round and are open to anyone over age ten. Supplies are provided for first-time students, but you must bring your own for future projects. Free ESL and literacy courses for adult non-native speakers start Saturday at the Lincolnwood Library (4000 W. Pratt). Students will be tested on the first day of class to assess level of fluency; the ESL class is for beginners and the literacy course for intermediate speakers. Participants must be 18+ or high school graduates.

ESL classes take place Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM through August 12. Literacy classes are Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM through August 23. Call 847-677-5277 for details.

Kids grades six and up are invited to two free events today at the Lincolnwood Library (4000 W. Pratt). At "Chick Flick and Beauty Craft," girls are invited to watch 27 Dresses (PG-13) and make glitter glow lotion. At "Fearless Fashion," kids can bring in old clothes and craft items like beads and buttons and learn how to make them into new fashions. Books, patterns, and extra materials are provided. "Chick Flick and Beauty Craft" starts at 3 PM and "Fearless Fashion" at 6:30 PM. For more information, click here or call 847-677-5277.

The Lincolnwood Library (4000 W. Pratt) offers open playtime for children grades three and up today from 2-5 PM. Children can bring their own games or try out new ones. Supervision is provided and parents are not required to stay. For more information, call 847-677-5277. 
July 8th - 11:15 a.m.
Kids grades six and up are invited to the Lincolnwood Library (4000 W. Pratt) from 3 to 6 PM every Tuesday in July to play Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 with their friends. Games will be provided, but kids are encouraged to bring their own (rated "T" and under) to share. There will be a mix of open-play game days and special tournaments.
