Here, thanks to Editor & Publisher, is a glimpse of what the Chicago Tribune might look like once it's redesigned. My guess is that whoever leaked this page-one prototype was hoping to head off disaster, and I pray he or she succeeds. Like everyone else, I make breezy allusions to the Trib. But when you get down to it, it's not the Trib I read and it's not the Trib I respect. It's a grown-up paper that calls itself the Tribune.
This front page is pathetic. You know those old guys who let what's left of their hair grow long and pull it into a ponytail, thinking that'll make it easier to score? That's how it's pathetic.

Pretty polished response. I'll guess it was floated out as an intentional trial balloon. If the majority of responses are like yours, Mr. Miner, we'll likely be seeing some more revision to this "work in progress."
You need to put a pinky-ring on that fella to make him as pitiful as this half-witted atrocity.
I hate you Sam Zell.
